ATHENS
🇬🇷 Six D.O.G.S.
w/ Circassian, Lunarmare

Jah bless Smoke The Fuzz, Jah bless Elina, Jah bless the wonderful, beautiful people of Athens. A bloody jolly good outing. And my GAWD, the food.
Good lord YES!

"The appearance of The Cosmic Dead on the board of six dogs was one of the most intense concert proposals in recent times. From the first pitch at 10.22pm, which I happened to catch a glimpse of the clock, to the last cymbal being played, the Scots lived up to any rumors surrounding their performances.

Tied up like a Victorian corset, they functioned as a single entity on the stage, which despite its small size, did not deter anyone from tangling the wool with the beard with the microphone with the space. Merciless blow we say!

The drummer distorted the rhythms and dynamics with the same ease as he wore his blonde wig. The bass plowed incessantly laying the canvas for the guitar explosions. The visuals that reminded me of the initial screens of Pitfall, Arkanoid and other blimps on repeat, combined with the keys that shot you into the map under the gaze of the keyboardist who was pounding like a mad maestro whether standing or lying down, burned your retinas and they glued the mind, weaving the visual carpet for the auditory panic. Loud sound, maybe too loud on the keys.

I was very impressed by how comfortably The Cosmic Dead moved around their compositions, since at times it seemed that they were just jamming like the kraut/space rock mystics that they are. Here and there it made my stomach a little, without affecting the overall spectacle to a serious extent. Epic last part of their set with ÜBER-gruvat bass, before they go out for an encore for more or less another half hour and complete our almost two hour tour of their rocking mind.

We want more to Lunarmare, big thumbs up to Circassian, Slainte Mhath to The Cosmic Dead and thanks to Smoke The Fuzz for the concert menu suggestions!"
